What is the Call to the Future Campaign? For over 145 years, St. Joseph Catholic Parish has provided local Catholics with a spiritual home. It truly is the center of our lives. Since its humble beginning, families have celebrated baptisms, first communions, confirmations, weddings and funerals at St. Joseph. Here we have witnessed the passage of time and grown in the evangelical mission of our Church. The history of our parish family, thus, is a history of love, commitment and charity that echoes each time we enter our church and take our familiar place to worship the Lord. The CALL TO THE FUTURE CAMPAIGN is part of our continuous mission to build the Kingdom of God by renovating our current Parish Center into an Education Center and building a new Community Center. As with any endeavor of great magnitude, the campaign poses a challenge. However, I have every confidence we will succeed. I believe that the very same generosity of spirit and commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ that characterized previous generations remains alive and well in all of our hearts. Working together, we will prevail. We will achieve our goals. We will build for the future. Sincerely in Christ, Fr. Joseph E. MonahanOur Heritage and Our Vision ! In 1859, St. Joseph Catholic Parish was founded to serve the Catholic families in the Archdiocese of Denver. Throughout the years, our parish has helped Catholics, in Golden and surrounding communities, share in worship, in service and in growth as a people committed to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our responsibilities are many: spiritual, educational, social and material. To the extent that we give of ourselves to provide for them, we become the instruments of Christ's will and the builders of His Church. For the past three years, the Parish Pastoral Council, Finance Committee and a Building Committee have been looking at the future needs of St. Joseph Parish. The parish hired Gifford Spurck Associates, an architectural firm, to help develop a master plan. In September of 2005, we took asurvey at all Masses. The results showed 76% of the respondents would support our plan. The Pastoral Council, the Finance Council and the Building Committee have carefully studied our needs and resources. In consultation with the diocese and with much prayer and discussion, a decision was reached to move forward with a capital campaign and a major expansion effort. Celebrating Liturgy is the most important thing we do at St. Joseph Parish. We also believe that we must be a welcoming community; that we must provide quality religious education for our children and adults; that we have a strong commitment to our youth; that we need to be committed to Christian service and outreach to the poor. We cannot adequately provide for these needs with our current campus. |

The Success of our "Call to The Future" Depends on a Pledge Pledging can be a prudent, practical and responsible form of Stewardship. Nearly everyone believes in pledging when it comes to personal financial aafairs, or when saving for future expenses. Now is the time to use this same kind of reasoning to care for our combined interests as a parish family. We must rely on everyone to plan a personal three-year goal of generosity. Two things everyone belonging to St. Joseph Catholic Parish can do to support the "Call To The Future" Campaign include: - Pledging to donate a specified amount to the project- Volunteering to help out at one of our many fundraisers. Please feel free to contact anyone on our staff or any member of our building committee if you have any questions or need assistance. |
